The Narrow Sea Game of Thrones Boat Tour Voyage
Conquer Strangford Lough's shores....
This voyage is a 'must do' when you are in Northern Ireland. Your guide entwines local history & mythology with Game of Thrones film locations and so the tour is as enjoyable for people that have never watched Game of Thrones before, as it is for advocate fans!
Game of Thrones and many other Hollywood Blockbuster movies are filmed on the shores of Strangford Lough for good reason - ancient untouched landscapes, deserted islands, crumbling castles - the whole area is stepped in history. Your guide will not only show you where HBO filmed the Red Wedding, Bolton's Dreadfort Castle & Tully's Viking Funeral in Game of Thrones, they will also show you Ireland's oldest castle, the port where St. Patrick first landed into Ireland in his rowing boat way back in the 5th Century, and how the Vikings pillaged these shores many years ago in their 'long boats'.
On this boat tour your guide also takes you to the ‘Bay of Seals’ and if we are lucky you may even get some Dolphins following your boat (Strangford Lough is a hive of marine wildlife, it is a World Marine Nature Reserve).
As you voyage across the lough breathing in lungfuls of the purest Irish Sea air and watching the tide Ebb & Flow you soon realise how the lough got its name ‘Strangfyorthe’ an old Norse name meaning strong fjord.
The Game of Thrones tour motor boat voyage can be ‘private chartered’ on a date of your choice. The tour lasts approx. 1hr30mins. Minimum passenger age = 3 years old
